GRATITUDE

Sat Oct 3, 2009, 2:54 PM
  • Mood: Sentimental
"As an artist, who and what are you grateful for? Think about it for a moment. Be specific."
-John Paul Thornton

I am grateful to the people who manage to drag me out of the dark, without knowing it.

I am grateful to my parents who were persistent enough to teach me to write decent stories when I was seven.

I am grateful to my dad for teaching me to be curious about the world; my mom, for giving me the passion to live my life.

I am grateful to Dovile, because together we learned how to really be crazy and mischievous.

To Judith, who kept me on track when I was about to go off the rails.
To Inga, who watched me cry and kept a straight face.

To my Grandmother, who showed me what strength really means.

To Lina, who proved you can be friends with your family.

I am grateful to all the people I've recently met, and the ones I didn't leave behind, for making me happy.

In a way, I'm grateful to Louise, for saying: "What the hell are you doing studying finance, you have a talent!"
Because I forgot.

What are You grateful for in Life?

I love you, I just hate you as a person

Friends are God's way of making up for our families.

Ignorance isn't bliss but its better than the alternative

Great craic!!
They (whoever the famous they might be) were right when they said university years are the best years of your life, can already see it's true and I'm only two weeks in. :D

So anything you're grateful for?
Do put it out, I was curious what others might have in mind. :)

You're my change of skin,
my summer-winterfall;
I spring to follow you-
this loss is beautiful.

Peeling off my skin
leaving just my eyes behind
you see inside my head-
still know that you are mine.

Upturns are good :) Usually we need more than we get, but I'm glad to hear things are going well.
Happy thoughts for everyone! :D
And you usually spread some happiness around so I guess we're even there? lol
I will keep an eye out for a Gratitude list from you then :)

I'm grateful that you don't have to sell art to be an artist.

I'm grateful that I've been given the freedom to start doing some really crazy and stupid things, and often the sense to stop doing them.

I'm grateful for those moments in life where you feel exactly what the person you're talking to is feeling.

I'm grateful for music, which is a great tool for tuning out the world or putting it in sharper focus.

I'm grateful to my dad. He may be annoying, but goddamnit, he really does care.

I'm grateful for friends like Tim, who make you want to get up and do SOMETHING with your life, just by being around.

I'm grateful to the people who could say "what are you doing, stop that" to me when I was acting like an ass. Even if I didn't listen, I'm grateful.

I'm grateful to all the people, (especially mom) who helped me believe that a sense of humor can exist anywhere. It's the closest thing I have to a faith.

I'm grateful for the friends who remember the good times, laugh about the difficult times, and pretend the truly bad times didn't happen at all.

I'm grateful that I turned out a lot better than I could have.

Oh yeah, and I'm grateful for people who put up stuff like this, to remind me that life isn't a spectator sport. Thanks, Ruta.

I'm grateful for the friends who've stuck by me.
I'm grateful for music, because it helps keep me sane and it's one of the few things guaranteed to cheer me up.
I'm grateful for laughter and various people's amazing senses of humour.
I'm grateful for books and films and TV shows, because sometimes you just need to escape.
I'm grateful for the ability to laugh at myself, because life would be no good without it :P
I'm grateful to my family, for never putting pressure on me to be something I wasn't, and for teaching me to always try and see the other point of view.
I'm grateful for the fact that I'm relatively healthy and young and relatively fit.
I'm grateful for the people who show me what I want to be, and inspire me to try harder and be a better person.
I'm grateful for the people who remind me why people are worth trying for, even when I'm feeling utterly disgusted with people in general. (Wow, that was a lot of people in one sentence :P)
I'm grateful for the fact that I have food and a house and that I'm not spoiled.
I'm grateful for a lot :) I don't show it often enough, but I am.

And just because of that, everything is worth it, just because one person thinks life is worth all the screw ups along the way, any amount of words are precious, because they make a heart beat with a definite sense of purpose, even if for just a fleeting moment.

Life is never spectator sport, because it's ours.

I'm grateful the world still has people like you - the magical ones that think they are ordinary, but do wonderful things anyway.
